Interesting article on Facebook via Fan Banter in relation to Whitby Town. Whitby are in NPL alongside the likes of FC Utd of Manchester Macclesfield etc.
The chairman say that within 7 weeks they lost £20k .Gate receipts £16K players wages £36k .

The fans at Whaddon Road also not happy with their board asking for investment. I think we should be grateful for what we have got.

Sounds like they should start by reducing the wage bill. If they can’t afford it then don’t pay it.

Players have the strength though don't they. You always want to try to form an allegiance with the rest of the league to force down wages but there will always be one or two that use that to their advantage and spoil it.

Blyth Spartans are yet another example of a proper old fashioned and well established club now seemingly struggling to survive. A couple of recent home postponements due, reportedly,  to failing to meet ground safety rules isn't helping. And when they do get to play their form is  feeble. Meanwhile the saviour brought in at the end of last season has rapidly turned into a pantomime villain and some fans are boycotting home matches (if when allowed to play).

That guy has ruined the club and hopefully the proposed sale goes through. The squad they put together in the summer was woeful.

As of 31 October they've become a supporter-owned club.
