So what’s the difference between “retained” on the one hand, and “agreed a new contract” and “already under contract “on the other?

Does it mean they’ll be non-contract, but have agreed to play for us next season?

Interesting list, especially that we’re only definitely seeing 4 players exit at this point in time.

Looks broadly fair enough I think, Mbayo can count himself unlucky but we've probably got plans for better. Fingers crossed we can get Robinson, Smalley and Smile signed on. Glad to see Durrell is gone, has to go down as one of the most disappointing signings we've ever made.

Basically four of the team that got us relegated have gone, one of which left six months ago.

I’d be interested to see what happens with Joe Parker. Are we to assume he’ll be farmed out on loan again?

Personally Robinson and Smalley yes - Robinson should have a field day at a lower level - Smalley showed glimpses of his ability eg Scunthorpe home but needs to produce more than he did.

He really was. Exactly the kind of player that I wish we had five years ago.

Given Parker hasn't been transfer listed I can only guess that Cook wants him. He did seem to do well at Tiverton and the person who kicked him out of the club has nothing to do with the club anymore.

I was lucky enough to have a little chat with Cookie before the last game, and he confirmed he’d never had a falling out with Joe, and that they had a good relationship. As a striker rather than a winger, and in the right system, the goals he’s been scoring at Tivvy suggest he’d be a real threat at the level we will be at next season.

Sticking around a while yet, thanks to a gift from a generous angel.

Confirms then it was down to one man who thankfully has nothing to do with the club anymore. Hopefully he can do well for us next season then.
