I think I’d rather just look forwards at this stage though. News guys sound like good guys, so here’s hoping they can take us forward.

One thing that stands out for me and will likely get lost in the on the pitch discussion is that Colin Taylor has a mentoring business, which hopefully points to someone with an understanding of the value of proper community work and how to instigate that. Working with the ST can only be a good thing. First things first though - it's backing Mike and the team that are the priority.

Alex had the right of reply to some of the stuff I've heard flying around this year, I'm glad for some of the enlightenment this piece brings but wonder why it couldn't have been clarified earlier.
Despite the challenges of the last year and not always seeing eye to eye, I think we should recognise APs legacy of bringing us back to the City. Its easy to forget how desperate it felt playing away every week.
And the COVID year. Best city team I've seen

There’s a lot to digest in this lengthy and rambling statement. The one piece that jumps out immediately is that we have six or seven players on two-years contracts, and that AP thinks we’ll struggle next season.
My take on that is that funds are tight and the our ability to recruit will be compromised.

Interesting statement. I guess a lot of us will never know if AP et al are truly the knights in shining white armour that rescued us from the Chambers mismanagement or whether this is a classic case of history being written by the victors (victors used in the loosest sense given the season that has just happened).
Form the outside looking in and having zero knowledge of the inner workings we seemed more professionally run under the Chambers in my opinion, but maybe they were giving off a good impression to the outside world, and maybe behind the scenes they did leave all of these problems. I guess you could theorise that's why off the pitch things seemed to go a little backwards with the new board, maybe all their time truly was spent fighting fires.
I guess the "truth" of what happened is kind of moot now, we are where we are, and never has Prorsum Semper seemed more apt, as what comes next is way more important than what happened before.

Yes - would be interesting to know what the Chambers make of the statement and how they would respond to it.
Were the Chambers left with problems that made it much harder for them? Or did the Chambers leave the problems that made it harder for everyone else? Or a combination of the two? Probably never know.
Sounds positive about the board and the people involved so hopefully that puts us in a better position to cope with whatever challenges come next and make next season a lot more positive than this one has been.

This club's history has more ups and downs than a big dipper. Not sure whether we're going up or down at the moment though (off the field anyhow). Good luck to Colin, I've known him since we used to work together but lost touch, he seems to be doing well so hopefully that will be good for the club too.
Good luck to AP and Eamonn and everyone else who've made the club interesting.

It depends who those 6 or 7 are. Is it 6 or 7? MC on the other hand was pretty confident we'll be competitive next season if he can get in the players he wants. I'm glad the debt thing is nothing to worry about. I follow Elliot Durrell. He posted "fraudster" in relation to something or someone a few hours ago. I'm not sure what that was about.

I'm one of those who's grateful for APs efforts to bring the club back and wish him all the best. Let's hope we can now have a period of stability on and off the pitch.

I guess the publication of our retained list will cast light on the exact number.
As for Cookie he interviews well and is honest - sometimes too honest in my opinion - and if he thinks we’ll compete that gives me a small modicum of comfort.
