There should be a boycott. The loss in revenue for smaller clubs is tremendous. That can mean the difference between promotion playoffs and relegation, so long as the clubs spend wisely.

I guess its inevitable given the reform to Champions League (which in itself is a mockery), but you do have to feel that the little guy is getting shafted once again. I do wonder if there is a more pragmatic solution. Why couldn't they say if both teams agree not to have a replay then there is no replay. Most teams of a similar division would probably take that up, and you'd get rid of a number of replays. When you are playing someone from a division below, they might not agree to it (but I can imagine lots of championship clubs playing premier league clubs might), but ultimately you should be beating them anyway so the extra congestion would be your own fault for not getting the job done.
Another idea I've seen is some form or additional prize money for lower league teams taking higher placed opposition to extra time. Not sure how that would be funded etc, but quite like it as an idea to at least recompense them for taking this away.

hang on, isn't this the part where grown adults get a hissy fit because you've linked to the Daily Heil website?
But, doesn't that only benefit the top 16 teams in the NLP anyhow? Big boys club that league, we're better off out of it. Only ever a National League team by regulations.

Not enough column inches to describe how bad an idea this is!
