RE: On this day - SHANDY LOVE MACHINE - 28-01-2024

Why wouldn't Jack james allow his photo to be taken. He's a footballer?

Unless it was off the pitch

Never heard of Bobby Moseley

Nah, he said it during a warm up or half time when I was near him taking photos. Strange, but there you go. I never did get sued.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 04-02-2024

4th February 1996.

Wishing a Very Happy Birthday to ex-gcafc loan player, James Bowen. The left back joined us on loan, from C********m Town. (I believe he came in a deal, with Joe Hanks also joining us on loan).
If I remember correctly, I think James had quite a long throw. He is now playing for Leamington.

Were the photos for the Club/Club Matchday Programme, or the photos for here. I'm probably saying something stupid, you're the Club Photographer, if Jack James came on in the second half, was it ok for you to take his picture then.  Huh

Happy birthday James! What a brilliant player he was for us with some unrivalled passion.
But just to add, he left Leamington in 2019, since then he’s played for Redditch, Halesowen, Sutton Coldfield and he signed for Coleshill a few days ago.

Happy Woking FA Trophy, 4th Rd, Replay day.
City, (then in the Dr Martens League, Western Division), beat Vauxhall Conference side Woking, in an FA Trophy Replay tie. Woking were two leagues above City.

Tom Webb scored his first ever goal for City and Adie Harris scored the second, which seemed to take for ever to go in. We were stood right behind the goal for that one.

Back when we were a proper club

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 14-02-2024

14th February 2004.

     Halesowen Town 0 - 0 Gloucester City.
    (Dr Martens League, Western Division).

On this Valentine's Day in 2004, neither team were able to score. The crowd of 427, witnessed both teams firing blanks, and a shortage of passionate goalscoring celebrations.
Still, you always have to love a clean sheet.  Heart
