We let him go a year ago today. Why did we sell him? I know he had a recurrent back problem but he's still playing for Chippenham. Did SK let him go?

It was because he wanted security of a contract for this season and as AP was leaving he didn’t want to put anyone on contract for this season.

Part of the reason why we are where we are now...

Weird because we were told it was SK’s decision

He wanted a longer contract which we wouldn’t give, they offered a great salary, and it was an hour closer to his home. You can totally understand why he decided to go, and I hated that he got grief for it. In my opinion one of the best players I’ve seen in a City shirt, a top bloke, and a City legend.

Agree a great player at this level.
Similar in ability and build to an even better City striker IMO and one that some may well remember from 1984/85 being Kim Casey.
He only played one season,he was too good for City, and signed the following season for Kidderminster Harriers where he scored 73 goals in 68 games.
He is regarded as one of the best non league players ever.
Worth reading his profile on the Kiddy website.

Those are absolutely valid reasons for moving. Can't blame a bloke for making that kind of decision at all.

Remember watching him at HR, and he was a great player.

Casey had a two year contract at City and went on strike to force a move. How times change.

Even more remarkably I think he scored 30 plus in a season where we as a team only managed 48. Relegated to midland division. 83/84?
