RE: On this day - Andrew B - 23-10-2022

23rd October 1990.

Wishing former Gloucester City midfielder Calvin Dinsley, a Very Happy Birthday. Calvin has also played for the likes of Kidderminster Harriers, Hereford FC, Swindon Supermarine. Believe he is now at Yate Town.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 24-10-2022

Saturday 24th October 1998.

Chertsey Town 0 - 5 Gloucester City.  (FA Trophy, 1st Round).

Gloucester City travelled to Chertsey Town, for this FA Trophy 1st Round tie. The match was watched by a crowd of 246. Gloucester won this tie 5 - 0, booking themselves a place in the next round.
The City goalscorers were, Tony Hemmings with a Hatrick, and Adie Mings (2).
Gloucester appeared to have had there shooting boots on, in the last 2 games. Scoring 5 in this match, they scored DOUBLE that on the previous Saturday. They scored 10 at home to Sudbury, in an FA Cup tie.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 27-10-2022

Saturday 27th October 2007.

Gloucester City 0 - 0 Banbury United.  (Southern League Premier).

Not too much to say about this game really. 0 - 0 scoreline says it all. This match was played in the 2007/08 season, (our first season in exile). We were playing our 'Home' matches at Forest Green Rovers, New Lawn Stadium, (or whatever it is called now).
A crowd of 303 came to watch this match. Gloucester City manager David Mehew gets a point, and a clean sheet from this game.

Sorry, my mistake. I'm lead to believe that Tim Harris was GCAFC manager at the time.

Yes it was definitely Tim in charge in the dressing room when we were playing at FGR.

Pretty sure this was the game where GK Kev Sawyer got sent off for 2 handball offences outside the box leading to Matt Rose going in goal for the rest of the game.

Yes, I can remember Matt Rose playing in goal at FGR. If it was this game, can't recall what stage of the game it was when he went in goal. Still, did well to keep the score at 0 - 0.
Reminds of other GCAFC outfield players that had to play in goal. Dave Wilkinson replaced Matt Bath at Bedworth United. Think we won the match? Then Joe Hanks replaced Jasbir Singh in a 'home' match at C********m?

RE: On this day - SHANDY LOVE MACHINE - 27-10-2022

You might be right about the other two Andrew, but I'd rather you waited until the actual anniversary of the day it happened before telling us.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 29-10-2022

Saturday 29th October 1994.

Rushden and Diamonds 1 - 2 Gloucester City.  (Beazer Homes Premier).

Gloucester City made the trip to Nene Park, home of Rushden and Diamonds. Nene Park was a Brand New ground, which has sadly since been demolished, and turned into a Retail Park. Inside the ground, you could purchase Dr Martens Boots, (the Company that the Late Chairman Max Griggs Owned).
R&D had got to the heights of League One, playing the likes of Leeds United. R&D went out of business, and have since reformed as AFC Rushden and Diamonds.
Anyway onto the above match. A crowd of 1553 was at Nene Park. City won the match 2 - 1, the goalscorers for Gloucester were, Ian Howell and Dave Mitchell. Not too sure if future GCAFC  players David Johnson, Andy Kirkup and Dale Watkins played for R&D, against Gloucester, in this fixture.

RE: On this day - Pims manager again - 29-10-2022

I went to Rushden on that day, only partly completed stadium.
Took my late mum.
