At the end of the game I had to act as Liam Daly's bodyguard as opposition players tried to get a reaction from him.
Sam Jones was the red carded player. Lots of clubs including 12 matches on loan for C********m. Doesn't seem to have played professionally after leaving Kettering. Described in Wikipedia as a reformed Christian who previously worked part time for a church.

Matt McClure's goal was a proper strikers finish

11th October 1994.
Wishing a belated Very Happy Birthday to former GCAFC loan goalkeeper, Paul White. Paul had two loan spells with us from Forest Green Rovers. Born in Cork, Ireland, he represented the Republic of Ireland at U23 level.
When he initially signed for us on loan, I think his first game was an FA Cup tie, away at Staines Town? On the GCAFC supporters coach going to this match, I was sat across from Paul Whites Parents. I got talking to them, they said they flew over to watch him play. They were staying at a Hotel at the Quays. Lovely people to talk to.
Paul got released by FGR, played for Kettering Town, Hereford FC, recently signed for Coalville Town.

This came on the back of them beating Newport away in the previous season. Our old friend Yatesman came to Whaddon fully expecting a repeat and actually seemed angry that the had not only lost but suffered a drubbing.'
The 2-2 at Yate was weird. It got a lot of City fans grumbling due to the nature of the late equaliser. Funny thing was, Joe Parker should've scored a winner after that but we'd bossed the game and they'd scored opportunistic goals. It was never in doubt.
The son of which former City player was playing for Yate?
