RE: On this day - SHANDY LOVE MACHINE - 23-07-2022

Sorry to correct you Andrew but we actually had a team of Mike Greens, except of course No 7 Tom Webb.

One of my favourite City chants, although it took me a while to learn the words.

That's a cracking photo Neil - where did you get that from?

RE: On this day - GME - 23-07-2022

Yep, something like that Wink

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 26-07-2022

26th July 2008.

On this date, Gloucester City AFC had a pre season friendly, away at Malvern Town. It proved to be an UPHILL task for both teams. Neither side could find the back of the net, the game finished in a 0 - 0 draw.

27th July 2004.

This seemed quite a random pre season friendly at the time. Rochdale came to Meadow Park, believe that Rochdale were on a pre season tour of the South West?
Gloucester lost the match 4 - 1, Stiles being City's goalscorer.

Not as random as you may imagine as Rochdale were using the facilties at Hartpury as part of their pre season prep.  They were good guests, leaving us with a signed match ball as a thank you.  If my memory is correct the Rochdale team included Rickie Lambert who went onto great things and is very much a Gas legend

Uni of Glos wasn't it?

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 28-07-2022

28th July 1992.

On this date, Gloucester City AFC had a home pre season friendly against Bristol City. A crowd of 500 was at Meadow Park, to see an entertaining 5 - 2 win for City (the City of Bristol that is).
Scoring for Gloucester that day were, Jason Eaton, and Wayne Noble.
