Wishing former Gloucester City AFC goalkeeper David Coles, a Very Happy Birthday. I first knew of David when he played for Yeovil Town. They had an FA Cup Tie against Arsenal, Yeovil were the Home Team.
Last year, David was appointed goalkeeper coach of Indian Super League team, Mumbai City.
He must be keeping them in "SHAPE!"

25th June 1979.
Today is the Birthday of former GCAFC striker Charlie Griffin. Charlie joined us towards the end of his playing career, made a big contribution to the Team. According to Wikipedia, he made 41 appearances, scoring 17 goals.
Charlie played for a number of Clubs, making a total of 500+ appearances, and scoring 200+ goals.

26th June 1983.
Wishing former Gloucester City AFC left back, Billy Jones, a Very Happy Birthday. Billy has played for the likes of Kidderminster Harriers, Exeter City, Newport County and C********m Town.
According to Wikipedia, Billy made 91 appearances for Gloucester, scoring 12 goals. He was a specialist at taking free kicks.
Having been watching gcafc since the mid 1990's, I think Billy has been one of the best left backs that we have had. I think we had one of the best right/left back partnership's in Mike Green and Billy Jones.

Andrew B, Wikipedia isn't the fountain of fact, I may well go on it and say City one the won the old1st division in 1970 - if you get my drift, it's useful but often deliberately misleading in many cases.

Yes, I have noticed it is not 100% accurate. According to them, Harry Williams still plays for Gloucester City AFC.

I like wiki but, specially for minor characters on the world stage, it's a bit like saying 'according to a bloke I met down the pub.... ' As it happens City is unusually well served for authentic information on history and players thanks to Neil's 'Tiger Roar' and the ultimate Bible (Tim Clark's ABC of City players from the 19th Century onwards.) Not sure if there are any unsold copies left however!

I try and keep our main page updated as much as possible, but all the players we get through it’s a mammoth job to keep them all updated even doing it once a season so I’d take anything you see on player pages with a pinch of salt.

Don't forget that the Wiki stats in the little box on their page only includes domestic league appearances and goals, not cup games.
