Gloucester City had a home match against Atherstone United. This was a Dr Martens League Western Division fixture, where Meadow Park had a crowd of 149.
The supporters were treated to an entertaining match, City striker Karl Bayliss scored a hatrick.
Unfortunately for the hatrick hero, Atherstone won the game 4 - 3.
I know how Baylo feels. Many many years ago when I used to play, I once scored 4 in one game and we lost 7-4!!

RE: On this day - Neil - 03-04-2022

We won 5-4 at Bashley and their striker scored all four of theirs.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 09-04-2022

9th April 2011.

Gloucester City AFC made the long trip to the North East. The destination was Croft Park, home of Blyth Spartans. This was a Blue Square Bet North fixture, which saw a crowd of 414 watching the game.
City won the game 2 - 0, Darren Mullings and Darren Edwards (penalty) the goalscorers.
This was my first visit to Croft Park. I drove up on the Friday morning, and stayed at the Premier Inn Cramlington. On the Saturday morning, went to the Sea Front at Blyth, where there was an ice-cream restaurant. After the match, went back to the hotel, where I was told that there was no hot  water at the hotel. Reception said I could stay at a Premier Inn at Newcastle, or stay at Cramlington Free of Charge. I thought that it was only for one more night, so I stayed at Cramlington.
