Will Morford I believe, according to TR. (Mangotsfield 0 - 1 City).

March 13th 1990 - City 9-0 Gosport Borough. Chris Townsend scored five. Graham Withey rolled in his hat-trick goal as the referee blew up for a penalty, which Towner took Wink - Beats International were no1 with Dub Be Good To Me.

March 13th 1993 - VS Rugby 0-1 City. The team were quite depleted after the mammoth Trophy tie against Runcorn and we'd added Steve Abbley and Ray Baverstock to the squad. My brother wasn't too pleased to draw Abbley in the goalden goal in minibus on the way up there but wasn't complaining when he scored the only goal of the game! 2 Unlimited were no1 with No Lyrics, erm, I mean, No Limit.

March 13th 2004 - Shepshed Dynamo 0-6 at Butthole Lane (no sniggering at the back). I had photos from this game somewhere. Found one had been used in a Newcastle United fanzine. Britney Spears was at no1 with Toxic.

RE: On this day - Prorsum Semper - 13-03-2022

This thread is bringing up names of teams that I haven't heard of in years and don't even know if they still exist!VS Rugby, Halesowen,Atherstone to name a few.

RE: On this day - Neil - 13-03-2022

VS Rugby changed to Rugby Town, and it wasn't just a name change, they seemed to take on personell from Rugby Town FC too. Halesowen are still Halesowen; they gave us some tough games down the years, just shows what a priviledged position we have now and how hard it's been to maintain. Atherstone United folded due to a really small debt, they're Atherstone Town now.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 18-03-2022

18th March 2014.

On this date in 2014, Gloucester were away to Brackley Town at St James' Park. This was a Skrill North League fixture.
Gloucester City were now being managed by Tim Harris, (David Mehew and City had parted company about two months before).
This match, watched by a crowd of 197, saw Gloucester Win 3 - 1. The goalscorers for us were Jake Gosling, Charlie Griffin and Lewis Hogg.

RE: On this day - Kengreen - 18-03-2022

If we had players like the three mentioned above in our squad now we would piss this tin pot league

RE: On this day - charlie - 18-03-2022

Very surprising that Jake Gosling is at Bristol Manor Farm now and his previous club was Sporting Khalsa. What a brilliant he was for us. Only 28 now as well.

I think it is because he is in the Forces? Think he can only play up to a certain level? I heard that somewhere, I might be wrong.

RE: On this day - Lee - 18-03-2022

Jake Gosling will be known to Lee having played with him at Rovers, scored a good number of goals in the league above for them, Gibraltar international too.
