31st January 1998.
Gloucester City AFC had an FA Trophy 2nd Round fixture. We had a home tie against Burton Albion, a team who are now in the Football League, and have tasted life in the Championship.
Meadow Park welcomed a crowd of 963. The match ended in a 1 - 1 draw. Gloucester's goal coming from Gary Kemp, who appeared in yesterday's Charity Match.

1st February 2003.
Gloucester City AFC had a remarkable FA Trophy run during the 2002/03 season. On this date, City had reached the FA Trophy 4th Round.
Gloucester were drawn to play at home, against Woking of the Vauxhall Conference. Gloucester were two leagues below, in the Dr Martens League Western Division.
Meadow Park had a crowd of 1078, and saw Gloucester draw 0 - 0 with Woking. (A Replay was required at Woking 3 days later). A Brilliant FA Trophy run from Chris Burns, and his young Gloucester City Team.

I remember this game well. I was living in Stockport and had drifted away from City for some years, before finding the City Open Forum and reinvigorating my interest. I came down alone on the train (apart from the pilot) and went back same day, just to watch a game without goals.

4th February 1996.
Wishing former Gloucester City AFC player James Bowen a Very Happy Birthday. I believe we signed James Bowen and Joe Hanks on loan at the same time from C********m Town.
4th February 1997.
It's also another former loan players Birthday. Josh Cooke, a striker who we signed on loan from Swindon Town.

Yes I remember, Luton Town on a Friday night. Game was changed from the Saturday, as there was a Protest March? Went on the GCAFC Supporters Coach, when we got to Luton, we were greeted with groups of Police Officers around the Town.
A proper football ground, with the corporate boxes running alongside one length of the pitch. A crowd of 2000 or so, a good GCAFC following behind one goal. If I remember correctly, we lost 1 - 0 in the last five minutes?
Still, Nick Owen must have been happy.

I was there, although went by train with Daveangel, Budgie Lips and a couple of others. Really bizarre watching City play Friday evening, especially at a ground with so much recent history. We acquitted ourselves really well, Adam Mann was outstanding and probably the game he proved his potential to City, Matt Coupe headed down into the ground and over the crossbar from a corner just before we conceded.......

Badly misjudged offside trap from a Luton free kick in their own half. Our whole team rushed out, but someone was slow (or maybe the lino!) leaving one Luton player with the ball in our whole half.
We went on the train.
The least said about that the better!

I think it was more a case of the goalscorer being clever enough to hang back whilst we tried the offside trap for a second time against a team a league above us.

8th February 2020.
On this date, two years ago, GCAFC were away to Bradford Park Avenue in the National League North. This was my first visit to BPA's ground. Pre-match, Mr Matt and I walked around the Athletics Track twice.
Previous grounds I have seen City play at with an Athletics Track are, Corby's old ground, Team Bath, Chelmsford City and BPA. There might be others, (haven't been to Gateshead's ground, had just thought of that one.
A crowd of 296 saw City beat BPA 2 - 1. Goals came from Bernard Mensah, and the on loan Aston Villa midfielder Lewis Brunt.
