RE: On this day - Andrew B - 08-01-2022

I was at the Taunton Town away match. I think it was on a Wednesday night? Drove down to it on my own, remember it raining pretty much all game.
We lost 5 - 0, then drove back up the M5, still raining.

8th January 2011.

On this date in 2011, like this date in 2022, we had a home league match against Boston United. The match in 2011 was played at C********m Town, a Blue Square Bet North fixture.
Played in front of a crowd of 345, we lost 1 - 0. (Hoping for better fortune this afternoon).

Sorry, the crowd was 385. 40 supporters went missing.  Rolleyes

January 8th 2000 - we lost 1-5 at home to Clevedon Town. Former striker Andy Mainwaring with a hat trick http://www.tigerroar.co.uk/images/wtps/20000108clevedontown.jpg

Look at the number of ex and future City players in their team. These kind of defeats hurt the pride the worst because that club came from nowhere and have since gone back to nowhere, I couldn't even tell you what league they're in now. A mark of resilience of this club.

January 9th 2016 a Lewis Hall hat trick, although the third was a Russian linesman job gave City a 3-0 win over Stalybridge Celtic

To be honest, I can't remember Andy Mainwairing signing for Clevedon Town. Clevedon had quite a decent team then, Lee Jeffries and Matt Rawlins on the bench. Matt Coupe, Steve Lester and Paul Milsom in the starting eleven. Matt Coupe is another one ai don't recall being at Clevedon.

With the “Obe cam” there is no dispute. Wish we could still have the same video coverage and commentary as it was in those days. I still watch them now.

RE: On this day - Severnside - 09-01-2022

For those long in the tooth like me we also had Bob Mursell and Roy Hillman from Clevedon Town in 1977 they took the odd players with them and things started on the up after a few torrid years after relegation from the SLP.....

I tried doing some at the Hemel friendly. It didn't feel very safe stood on the shipping container roof Sad

I might try doing some over the next couple of games instead of photos because the league have brought in the Red Zone again meaning that I can't go on the pitch to take photos and going in amongst the crowd is shite.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 11-01-2022

11th January 1993.

Wishing former City striker Scott Wilson a Very Happy Birthday. Scott went onto play for Macclesfield Town and Oldham Athletic. He is now at Dagenham and Redbridge.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 12-01-2022

12th January 1996.

Wishing former City forward Zack Kotwica a Very Happy Birthday. Zack has also played for Tamworth, Salisbury City, Cirencester Town.
Zacks best season at Gloucester was 2016/17. We had a brilliant forward line of Luke Hopper, Ed Williams and Zack. Zack scored 13 goals that season.
His Dad, Jason Kotwica, has also played for Gloucester City. Remember Jason being at GCAFC, think he was in the Youth Team.

RE: On this day - Andrew B - 13-01-2022

13th January 1997.

Wishing former GCAFC fullback Jack Senior a Very Happy Birthday. I believe that Jack was the first signing made by former manager James Rowe.
Jack scored on his GCAFC debut, in a 2 - 2 draw Vs Kettering Town.
